re: Not quite "the only"

If the phrase "high crimes and misdemeanors" could, for a time, be construed to include perjury in regard to infidelity, it certainly ought to include deliberately causing the unnecessary deaths of US civilians and servicemen under false pretenses.

The whole issue capsulized in one sentence.

The current Republican buttmonkey Congress will do anything to protect their boy, so we won't see the well-deserved impeachment process begin...this term. We the people have a chance to remove Bush from office in November, but as insurance in case we fail in our duty, let's not forget the importance of electing a Congress with a majority of Democrats.

There's a nice irony that flows from comparisons with the Republican impeachment of Clinton. The Right piously maintained that there was nothing partisan about it, oh no, why, they were protecting Civilization Itself and the American Way--not to mention The Children--from the terrible threat posed by a President lying about...marital infidelity. I can't wait to hear them shriek "partisanship!" like a pack of howler monkeys if a Democratic Congress impeaches Dubya for malfeasance and/or incompetence directly related to the performance of his duties while in office.

"malfeasance and/or incompetence"...the really sad thing about listening to the shrill defenses of Bush these days is that they've devolved to "no, he didn't lie, dammit, he was merely clueless!". Do I care which one? No. Either way, Bush is clearly a disaster for the country and must be removed from office.
