Question fro R.L. WRT Extrasolar Lensing and Planet Finding

RL:

So whats the skinny on this technique? Can it be used to not just detect planets, but also to image them? Or is its use limited to deducing from the light and intensity that plates exist? What can Large modern observatories like Keck and paranal ( esp those that do interferometry) bring to this technique?

Even if it is limited to detection and not imaging, whats the size limit on the planet that could be found? And could spectral information be teased out of the lensed light? So, could say analysis uncover that the lensed lioght contined signiatures of oxygen?
