My internet access is gonna be intermittent for a while, I am calling hospice to nurse my computer through what seems to be its final days... Your prayers are appreciated.
Gravitational lensing only shows up as a brief change in the luminosity of a star, you dont get spectral info from it...
Some planned space missions will be able to maybe do spectroscopy on extrasolar planets, what we hope to see is evidence of free oxygen, since that would indicate the possibility of life... They are many years away
Keck is the leading observatory when it comes to finding extra solar planets, but we dont use gravitational lensing, mainly the researchers rely on doppler shift due to planets pulling on their star...
Gravitational lensing searches need a wide field of view and lots of time- NOT qualities Keck has... Keck has imaged many stars where planets are forming, one observation used the laser guide star...
The space interferometry missions will be the best hope of finding earth like planets..

Nick pretty much nailed it
