Hi All
SM... I don't see how they could be combined - a tokamak needs plasma and acetone "plasma" just isn't possible. Sono-compression is really just an isotropic squeeze, just like laser-ignitors and z-pinch machines seek to achieve. Hence I don't see any feasible combination with those machines.
But... well the sono-cavities are formed by neutrons, and another good neutron source is an IEC fusor burning D-D or D-T. Hence two desktop fusion machines could work together. Whether they would achieve breakeven is another thing. The only way to make energy from neutrons is by thermalising their energy and running some sort of heat engine with it. But that's horribly inefficient at low temperatures - which would be the case for an acetone working fluid - a mere 56.5 degrees C. Of course we could raise the pressure - anyone know the critical point for acetone?
Or can fusing sono-bubbles be created in another fluid with a higher bp???
