I don't think 1940 America would show any more support for kicking the shit out of Iraq than 2004 America does.

Conversely, if Germany, Italy, and Japan decided to take over the world again, I guarantee that 1 out of 7 would line up around the recuiting offices and sleep in the street waiting for their turn.
