re: Guess I'm a crybaby

A lot of marine casualties in the Pacific war were due to their doctrine of using infantry assaults to destroy the enemy. The army did a lot better with their philosophy of spending more artillery shells and time, and fewer lives.

We could be losing a lot fewer Marines in Iraq if we were using artillery and bombs instead of the precision close-in fighting we are doing. Apparently the risky attempt to keep Iraqi civilian casualties to a minimum doesn't impress a lot of people.
