There are over a hundred thousand troops in Iraq. How many do you really think are doing this?
There is no excuse for the actions of these military people, but before you get too dramatic, you might want to remember that the regime we kicked out had torture as its standard operating procedure. For decades.
For us, it's still a crime, and aberrant behavior of a small, sick group.
And I don't think we've tortured thousands to death like Saddam did. Just something to keep in mind.
In any case, the anti-war media has what it was looking for now, the same thing Kerry brought them out of Vietnam in his testimony: The American military = monsters. The newspapers who would not touch photos of a Marine feeding a child with a ten-foot pole will post these shots over and over and over and over again.
The destruction of the war effort is proceeding on schedule, and reporters are already smiling as they dream of filming the last Amerikan helicopters fleeing Baghdad.
