re: I am curious...

do you REALLY believe that I want to see our troops die and lose? Do you really believe that, Tom?

Didn't know you were a reporter.

Die? No. I have seen maybe a dozen crackpot leftists altogether who have expressed satisfaction with our soldiers losing their lives, and there are none of them on this board.

Lose? That's another question. You may want to think about that for a while. Do you really want the war won? What would you define as "winning?" Many leftists and liberals have no problem honestly combining in their minds the concepts of supporting the troops, and rooting for the war to fail miserably. This has never made sense to me, and still doesn't, but there it is.

I stand by my judgment of those in the media making political hay out of this. Are they glad those prisoners were tortured? No. Not one media person back during Vietnam was glad that little burned girl running down the road was napalmed, or that Vietcong was shot in the head in front of them, but the pictures that resulted were like a Christmas present for those who wanted to see that war fail.

As I posted here a while back, if people, like the media, really want to see us win, would it kill them to act like it?

as I write we are putting a Saddam general in charge in Fallujah- yeah we are winning hearts and minds...

It's funny, but not two weeks back everybody was calling the Bush administration a bunch of blithering boobs for booting the old Iraq army and officers out on their ears at the beginning of the war, a policy intended to remove Baathism and ex-Saddam personnel from the equation.

Face it, in some people's eyes, if Bush does it, it's wrong, and consistency has little to do with it.
