Ironically, nuclear power is probably the best short-term practical solution to reducing fossil-fuel CO2 contributions to the atmosphere.
I, for one, would like to see China, which already has nuclear weapons coming out of its ears, to do more nuclear power development. Assuming they're a little more responsible with reactor design than the Soviets were.
China is the tall pole in the energy-usage tent.
