Somehow that doesn't surprise me
Most people have, at best, vignettes for dreams. You rarely hear about a sustained narrative, certainly not as long and detailed as yours seemed. In the telling, perhaps--sometimes, to me, dreams seem to be fractally compressed, such that a few symbols and tangled situations might unfold into quite a complex story. Perhaps you're decompressing a shorter dream into a longer narrative?
