The problem seems to be the translation of what Islamic beliefs should be. "Extremist" translations, as well as "your" translations of all Islamic translations.
Oh, don't worry, Lee. You're not all that special. It's a relatively common misconception to believe that everyone who disagrees simply must be wrong. Look around. We have a lot of folks right here who fall into that category.
BTW:
I thought your solution to be an excellent one -- for an old Heavy Metal installment. Of course, it would be doomed to failure, but a fun story to write anyway.
