Actually Tom, here in the Phoenix area we got to see first-hand how a talk show host pretty precisely predicted the current mess and what happened to his job as a result. You see he worked for a station owned by Clear Channel Communications and they weren't so happy about his warnings about going to war in Iraq when all the other ditto-head hosts were shouting their war rhetoric. Charles Goyette, who's won numerous national awards for his talk show style and balanced approach and always commanded high ratings, was first moved to a bad time slot after his views came out and later fired. He's since moved on to a new talk station that is rapidly stealing away the listeners from our other conservative stations. Now Tom, before you brand Goyette as some liberal you should know that he almost always landed on the conservative side of the issues but on Iraq his knowledge of the world as a whole simply wouldn't allow him to see the long term effects being positive.

I'm sure Goyette knew that his honesty would eventually land him out of work with Clear Channel. Guess there's heroes in all professions.
