It isn't just here. I can read. I can see. I can hear. This entire thing is a good 80 percent raw politics. With the growing economy folding up as an issue, Iraq is the only thing left as an issue. The hypocrisy is easily revealed by comparing the positions of Democratic leaders on Iraq and Saddam now, and back during Desert Fox.
Anybody who thinks anything would have been different if we had gone only into Afghanistan, and never touched Iraq, is hopelessly naive.
We would be getting all the same media crap about quagmires, bad planning, the opium trade, breakouts of terrorism, "Vietnam syndrome," and all the rest. Just in a different country.
