Media spin of the day...

From the Detroit Free Press:

Meantime, as if U.S. forces weren't edgy enough about venturing out on Iraqi roads, the sarin discovery raises all sorts of distressing questions. Iraqi insurgents may have unwittingly found what American forces could not, a stockpile of Saddam Hussein's deadly weapons. Even if this was an isolated discovery, U.S. forces will have to deal with the possibility, and their ruthless enemies are certain to try to exploit the fear.

This new and dangerous aspect of the war may be a consequence of the American failure to secure hundreds of Iraqi weapons caches and ammunition dumps during the race to Baghdad. There was simply too much stuff and not enough troops.

Amazing how quickly they moved from "absolutely, positively, without the shadow of a doubt, no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq" to "U.S. screws up by failing to secure all those weapons of mass destruction in Iraq."

Moving the goalpost is one thing, but lately the media has been uprooting the goalpost and running clean out of the stadium.
