Travesty

It's a huge joke to try to compare the US in WWII with the US in Iraq. It's hard to imagine anyone who can ignore the underpinnings of each situation with a straight face.

If one were to compare situations, it would have to be Germany in WWII with the US in Iraq.

Each of them invaded other countries on pretexts, after being "set up" by a political leadership with their own agenda,

each of them held negotiations which were a sham,

each of them said it was to protect their citizens,

each of them ascribed powers and motivations to the others which didn't exist, and

each of them found as occupying powers they had to abuse the population to keep it under control.

You see, Japan and Germany declared WAR against the US, they weren't trying to appease the US at the time. Big difference between going halfway around the world to attack an almost defenseless third-world country and defending oneself.

Anyone who cannot see that the US in WWII and Iraq are different situations doesn't have a knowledge base which allows for civilized discourse. It's like talking with someone who believes in the face on Sedona - a fundamental, basic flaw in reasoning makes reasoning impossible.

Don'tcha think?
