re: The real issue in Tomworld

We get sucked into these arguments, and tend to forget the real issue with the Left.

It's about hating Bush. It's about Bush when they wake up in the morning, and go to sleep at night.

Wrong. On so many counts, not even considering the braod brushing.

More than a few Democrats left a couple of marbles in Florida. Then came the 2002 elections, when their vengeance was at hand, and every political weapon deployed, especially in Florida. They got their heads handed to them again, including overwhelming victories in Florida, and a couple more marbles dribbled out.

May have to agree, so long as emphasis is on the "few" rather than "more"

Now, add to that the fact that Al Gore, the man they staked their lives, fortunes and sacred honor on back in 2000, is beginning to look like a bit of a flake, and not at all the kind of person you want in charge of defending the nation. The level of aggravation and frustration gets a bit higher.

I think you're serious. Hard to believe really. Perhaps if Gore had shown even an ounce of the passion (you see flake, i see passion) he just showed, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Now, tack on to that the fact that John Kerry was selected in the primaries solely for his perceived ability to defeat the incumbent in the election, and without any regards for policies, positions, or anything else. Now they're more or less stuck with him unless they do something really dramatic. And there really isn't much there.

More memes 'o' Brosz.
I would wager that most democrats are quite happy with Kerry as candidate. Probably the best candidate of a bad bunch (which isn't even something you could have said for Bush in 2000).
Any frustration right now is with his lacklustre campaign. If it wasnt for grass-roots organizations he'd be up shit creek in many of the so-called battleground states.

So all you really have left now for many Democrats is a ravenous hostility towards Bush. And frankly, the entire Democratic campaign strategy right now consists of cutting Bush off at the knees. Every time they try to push Kerry forward, he falls on his face.

I wish you'd define many a bit more. 1000 people is many, but equates to few in the country.
How bout "some"?
Which campaign is running the most negative ads so far? Did you miss the latest analysis?
Hint - it aint the democrats.

Iraq is an issue with them because it's a way to get at Bush. Gas prices are issues because they are ways to get at Bush. If Bush isn't a target, it isn't an issue.

Gas, ok, i'll agree with that. called politics as usual. Dont recall you berating Bush back in 2000 for saying almost exactly the same thing.........
