Did the US declare war against Iraq?

Would this government need any factual, real excuse to start a war against another country?

The answer to both of those is obviously "no".

This government will start to prepare the population by demonizing the leadership of the country, publicize atrocities, inflate the military capacity of the country, and then create some incident analogous to the Gulf of Tonkin or WMDs.

And then attack, having told the US population that we are being pre-emptive and liberators of an oppressed population who want nothing more that American style democracy and a McDonalds on every corner.

Did you ever wonder why the demonization of North Korea follows such patterns. For a while the news if full of how bad things are over there, and then it's forgotten, only to be brought up again.

Depends upon the domestic political situation. If it's truly bad, it's truly bad all the time, not just when Cheney/bush want to trumpets blown.

After you've seen it a few times, you learn. If, and this is a big "if", one is capable of learning.
