Are you saying any state intervention is 'socialism'? Some people do. I wonder what J M Keynes would say to that .. And that FDR, goodness me .. oh, how about 'socialist' President Nixonwhose social spending exceeded his defense spending?

'State control of the means of production' could refer to state capitalism as easily as it does state socialism, IMO. China would seem to be an example of both - a mixture. Neither has nothing to do with popular and democratic control over powerful vested interests.

I would have thought that you - with your commitment to free individualism - would be among the first to cut any vast undemocratic financial institutions down to size. What example do they have to offer anyone interested in the meaning (and practice) of freedom? Only that of power and dominance, IMHO.
