What a species that exults a character that prides itself on being ignorant of major matters. Like knowing that Earth went around the Sun would leave him no more room in his mind for more "important" matters.
Guess what, Sherlock, the room of your mind *is* elastic, but being from the Nineteenth Century and who you are, you wouldn't have bothered to pick up on that now, would you?
I remember a film that came out in 1995 starring Sandra Bullock titled The Net, where our heroine played a computer nerd. All of the actors interviewed proclaimed with near pride at how they knew almost nothing about computers, as if showing any sign of knowledge beyond what they had for dinner last night was an embarassment.
Oh yes, like the human race has way too many smart people already.
