We need the leader of Pakistan to deal with the al Qaeda--remember them?--who infest the western part of that nation. We put pressure on him to make him cooperate to the point where he began taking out terrorists, and also worked to help bring down the Pakistan nuclear weapons ring.
This is not "supporting a military dictatorship that is spreading nuclear weapons." You might have noticed that al Qaeda has been consistently trying to kill Musharraf, which strongly indicates that we are doing something right over there.
Or maybe you think we'd be better off with an al Qaeda toady running those nukes?
I see no evidence that there is any effort to undermine Chavez other than what his own people are undertaking (recall petition.) Of course, if you possess that iron faith that leftists sometimes have that there couldn't possibly be popular opposition to a communist thug unless the CIA was behind it, there isn't much I can do about that.
