I thought the same thing when I saw his post. I rarely read Donald's gloom and doom (Dr. Smith is pictured here) post. But I was courious about his use of his favorite word.

Donald and Bowser just love the word “quagmire”. It has a queer sound to it. I wonder if they even know what it really means. It is just another word for predicament or even sticky situation.

It also means swamp, like in a marsh, LOL.

Quagmire just sounds more troublesome than predicament. Yes, Iraq is a predicament, but so has just about any conflict that has ever taken place. He could start using the word quandary, which also means predicament.
