has suppressed the development of alternatives to nuclear power for decades. It has made sure that non of the money spent would actually result in any new technology that might threaten nuclear power.
However, there ARE viable alternatives, the largest of which is Sea Solar Power which will drarf nuclear power within a short period of time. The problem was getting started. Now that plant number one is going up in Guam, it will not be long before thousands of plants will be springing up around the world to provide cheap electricity, far cheaper than obtainable from nuclear power. Electricity from Sea Solar Power generated in the Gulf of Mexico will be sold in New York or Michigan for less than locally generated nuclear power, despite transmission costs.
Let me give you a simple example: Sea Solar Power built its own heat exchanger test facility which proved that its heat exchangers did, in fact, perform as predicted, far better than any other heat exchangers ever devised. It invited the "experts" from the Department of Energy to attend a demonstration, and even offered DoE permission to dismantle the system to make sure that there were no hidden gaffs. The DoE refused to come altogether.

Humbug. The Department of Energy, along with the Nuclear Engineering Establishment

- Iran plowing ahead toward nuclear weapons
- It all started with Eisenhower's "Atom's for Peace" program.
- So you finally have found WMD's....a real case of Right Church---Wrong Pew.........
- rSo talking harshly has not worked with Iran, either. We need clinont/albright to hide harsh reality for us again.
