As I pointed out elsewhere, if you want to be accurate, the comparison should be between the current situation and when Saddam was ruling Iraq. Hey, remember Saddam?
There has been absolutely no statement from anyone in the administration that comes anywhere close to the idea that "violence will end." In fact, most administration officials think it's going to get worse in the near term.
