Adolf Hitler turned his trial for treason [after the failed beer-hall putsch, in 1924]
into an opportunity to use his oratory and bombast to promote his Nazi cause.
More recently, the infamous Serb leader, Slobodan Milosovic, has turned his criminal trial
proceedings into a farce.
And though not a political trial as such, OJ Simpson's dream team helped him evade serious
jail time.
I'm worried that Saddam may turn his trial into a farce as well; draging out the proceedings, railing against the Americans, turning his trial into a soapbox platform to try and belittle the serious charges against him, accusing others
of carrying out the actual crimes, denying knowledge of their existence, and encouraging those Sunni Iraqis
to sympathize with him [one of their own].

I'm really concerned that Saddam may make a mockery of his trial.
