Saddam stealing the scene
You said a mouthful there. Saddam now has the biggest audience he has ever had, and you can bet he will play it for all it's worth. I wish I had a nickel for every American news outlet today that gleefully quoted him calling Bush "a criminal."
It would work a lot better if the trial could be held off-camera, but given what the Iraqis, the Americans, and others have sacrificed to put him in the dock, it would be almost obscene to keep the process out of their sight.
