It's really funny that the term liberal has gotten that strange evil connotation that the neo-cons nailed them with. I simply can't understand someone wanting to label themselves anyway. You'd think the makeup of this newsgroup would be scientists and educated people that would have open minds about all aspects of the world. Why limit yourself to one side of the political spectrum? I see validity to both sides of the argument in most issues. It's generally the extremes of the viewpoints that skew everything toward the outrageous.
Let's hope that as man evolves (if that's still possible) that we stop placing so much emphasis on the labels and definitions and take each issue separately. Can you imagine the assholes that would pucker in the smoke filled rooms of both major political parties if suddenly the people simply stopped allowing others to decide what their platform should be?
