But people who disagree with my views are just that: people who disagree with me. They are not wrong or bad.

Perfectly true, in many cases. But it is silly to assume that all views are equally valid, and that none of them are wrong or bad. It is not hard to test this tolerance of alternative views in a liberal--ask them about something dear to their agenda and see what response you get.

And it's pretty hard to look at the various treatments of Bush by the Left without getting the idea that they believe he is both wrong and bad, not just a person with a difference of opinion.

Of course, he's the President, and his views affect us all. And that's really where our modern social and government system comes into it.

When a person sits in his living room and believes something, it doesn't affect me. When he goes to his Senator to make a law forcing me around to his views, that's something else. And this happens a lot nowadays.

In a society where no aspect of existence is considered to be beyond the reach of the state, every brain fart from either the Left or Right has access to the guns of the government. It gets hard to be tolerant of other views under these circumstances.
