"They have an NASA employee telling how she would "sanitise" space images by airbrushing them out before they are presented to the public; among others."
No, they didn't, you misunderstood or misrepresented the allegation.
They had Donna Hare saying she was TOLD by another photo tech that satellite pictures of Earth that had flying saucers in view were airbrushed before public release, and she swears she saw one such picture, she could see the trees and their shadows, and the flying saucer and its shadow.
Problem is, space pictures of Earth don't SHOW trees and their shadows, back in the 1970's when she was a technician there. Nor even now. They didn't have that power.
Years ago, I challenged her and those who believed her to produce ANY photograph NASA took from space of Earth's surface that showed ANY tree and its shadow. My point was that such resolution was physically impossible. All I got was excuses, but never any such image.
My conclusion was that Hare's story was debunked, from internal evidence alone, as a fantasy. She was clearly a UFO buff and eager-believer in contactee stories at the time (do a Google search on her, or her maiden name Tietze, and see her "New Age" home page), and the stories she tells of her dates telling her UFO stories (like the secret Apollo plan to set off an A-bomb on the back side of the Moon -- I'm not making this up, that's what she claims) sounds to me like the guys knew how to turn her on.
But credible testimony? Not a chance.
So -- why are some people today still such easy marks for such hokum?
