Linda Rondstadt got off easy.
From this interview: (boldface mine)
"My career has befuddled other people, and it's befuddled me," admitted Ronstadt, 58, who finds her fans are polarized by her nightly on-stage salute to "Fahrenheit 9/11" filmmaker Michael Moore.
"I've been dedicating a song to him – I think he's a great patriot – and it splits the audience down the middle, and they duke it out," she said.
"This is an election year, and I think we're in desperate trouble and it's time for people to speak up and not pipe down. It's a real conflict for me when I go to a concert and find out somebody in the audience is a Republican or fundamental Christian. It can cloud my enjoyment. I'd rather not know."
So we see where it stands, and which groups in this country you can still shit all over and get away with it. If she had plugged "Muslim" in there, she would have been #*@%#@ hung at the end of a rope. At the very least, never, ever worked again. Run out of Hollywood on a rail. Universally condemned. For a real good time, plug "black" in there and see how your liberal mind shifts its perception.
But no, she condemned the religion you can still be bigoted against and be politically correct and pure. In the next few weeks she will be defended by all the Right People, who will say she is being "censored" and "persecuted."
To hell with her and all her pals. With any luck, she and Moore will meet each other and the resulting mass will collapse into a singularity.
