"I know it's hard for an audience. . . . If I go to a show and if I find out someone is a right wing Christian or a Republican, and I really like their show, it still puts kind of a cloud over it to know," she said. "But I've kind of got used to that. I don't particularly like to be preached to, so I've limited my remarks to just saying I think he's a great American and a great patriot, and that I recommend that they see his movie."
Now that statement makes much more sense from someone in the public eye aware of trying not to alienate too much of her audience. I've felt the same way about performers in the past. I have a hard time enjoying a performer anymore if I know in their personal lives they're rotten people, on the far end of the political spectrums or have fundamentalist religious views. And yes, to my compatriots on here that would label me as left leaning, that includes Barbara Streisand. She's not only on the far left but seems a complete bitch.
Other performers that I have a hard time stomaching include Charlton Heston (redneck), Mel Gibson (Jesus wacko), Tom Cruise and John Travolta (cultists). Oh yeah, and Ben Stiller (not funny).
