No one is suggesting it was your position, save for RL. Yet, you dealt with his rebuttal, to the straw-man he, perhaps mistakenly, constructed, as if it were really directed at your proper argument, thus confusing the issue for the sake of a counter attack.
The point is that you seem to be playing the game in the same manner you're accusing him of, albeit in a less obvious manner.
