Insurgency battles

Tom Brosz — 8/11/2004 7:43:33 PM (archived)

Been watching the news online, and I'm impressed by the speed and smoothness with which the media switches from "American soldier as victim" mode, used when the bad guys are shooting at us while we don't respond, to "American soldier as monster" mode, used when we are shooting back, and somehow only managing to magically kill civilians. You know, the ones who live in the cemetery. This latter mode is accompanied by many photos of grieving mothers.
