The war WAS clearly about WMD, at least in large part. But since the end of the Bathist regime, and especially since the new Iraqi government has taken over, it's been about building a democratic Iraq. Any american GI's who have paid the ultimate price have done so in the service of THAT noble goal. To keep endlessly claiming these guys are dieing for nothing is as insulting as it is untrue. So if Donald can ever get that the mission has changed he might shut the fuck up!
Democrats and Republicans both have leaders I dispise but both also have individuals I admire greatly. Bush is not one of the latter although I don't consider him the personified evil many other democrats do. He's done a couple things right, but that doesn't cut it as far as presidents go. Four years and not one inch closer to energy self-sufficiency. Our international standing is worrisome to me also. Kerry will not neglect the vital national security issue of energy independence, will finish the job in Iraq and rebuild bridges to our allies.
