Yes and No again

Market solutions are the way to go but there are intelligent ways to steer that market with MAJOR tax credits, incentives and subsidies. Bush has never been serious about weaning us from fossil fuels and that is the main reason I will not vote for him. This is as much a national security issue as it is an economic and environmental one. Big Oil has nothing to fear as long as there is a Bush in the White House.

After Dumbsfeld's failure to listen to advisors who said more troops would be needed to keep the post war peace; after the WMD fiasco; after the prison scandal etc it's difficult to see how Kerry could screw Iraq up worse. But you never know... I'd say it's a wash on who would do better finishing the job in Iraq.

Governments of some of our allies may still support us but the people in those nations think we're the next Nazi Germany. While I know it not to be true this perception of America unsettles me a great deal and is the second main reason I oppose Bush. We need to have a clean slate in dealing with our friends.

The only thing Bush has gotten right is space. I suspect Kerry will end up supporting some version of the Moon, Mars & Beyond vision, but Prometheus will likely die in a Kerry presidency. Bummer, but it doesn't outweight energy self sufficiency and international relations.
