re: A dishonorable diversion from important issues

For a minute there I thought you were talking about the National Guard investigation.

The article is misleading.

First, Bush did not instigate the Swift Boat Veterans issue. O'Neill and other veterans did. A capital mistake the Democrats are making is assuming that the Swift Boat organization is a political circle-jerk like the Democrats and Moveon.org. It isn't. To those veterans, it isn't about Bush. It's about Kerry. Their organization is the result of the publication of "Tour of Duty" much more than the Bush/Kerry conflict. If you were paying attention to what the veterans are saying, instead of just writing off over 200 servicemen as political flunkies, you would know this.

The fact that the Swift Boat donations come from Republicans--a few hundred thousand dollars before this entire flap took off--is no more astounding than the fact that Moveon donations come from Democrats.

This "friend of someone who knows Bush" crap is ridiculous. I can show a closer link between Bush and Cleland. So what?

I'd be a lot more impressed by all the indignation if the indignant parties hadn't been carrying torches and pitchforks to the National Guard investigation, and cheering on lies from Moveon.org and Michael Moore. Somehow it's only "dirty politics" when Kerry takes a hit. But what else is new?

Who the hell do you people think you're kidding with this hypocritical outrage?
