And...

I'm writing this while I get ready to go to work, so I'm thinking about those bugs awaiting me.

We use the ClearQuest bug tracking system. One of its amusing little features is that anybody can reassign a bug...like, for example, the person it's currently assigned to. Nobody likes these old Mac and Nagivator bugs, so naturally everybody procrastinates. As soon as I showed up those poor bastards jumped on the chance to dump their weeks-old bugs on me.

Another feature of ClearQuest is that it raises a red flag when a bug is 30 days old. So just as I'm getting started on my bugs, I start getting nasty emails from QA (and CCd to my boss and his boss) not-too-subtly implying that I'd been malingering for a month (two weeks into my new job!), and warning that if I didn't get off my ass and start earning my keep, I'd be in deep doo-doo.

My new colleagues thought that was hilarious. Ha ha ha ha....

I can't wait until they hire somebody new. Shit flows downhill.
