And the imaginary "oppression" everyone keeps assigning to the current administration is starting to become a joke.
Although I hear a lot about what Ashcroft can or might do, as of yet, not one normal citizen has come forward with a real case of having his or her civil rights seriously threatened. Considering the oppression Ashcroft is supposed to have inflicted on this nation, I find dissent to be marvelously healthy and proliferate. If the Lords of Darkness are stifling free expression against the Bush administration, they're sure doing a piss-poor job of it.
Some have come forward with the thesis that horrible things are happening, but since Ashcroft has forbidden people to discuss it, nobody knows about it. In other words, the sheer absence of evidence of abuse indicates that it's really happening.
Uh...right.
Reminds me of the old Cosby routine, where his father keeps him in bed by telling him there are snapping turtle heads all over the floor.
Young Cosby: "I don't see any turtle heads!"
Father: "They're invisible!"
