Obama's legislative program had bigger fish to fry in 2009, remember: The economy was collapsing, the stimulus wars were raging and Obamacare was formally introduced in the House that year; he was also trying to renew the nuclear arms treaty with the Russians, all to vicious GOP opposition, or have you already conveniently edited that from your highly selective memory?

Besides, you can't really blame Reid for suspecting that the Republicans could be counted on doing something really moronic just because they thought it might obstruct and humiliate Obama. That's how Republican statecraft has been defined since November, 2008.

You can't blame the Senate Leadership for Republican voting strategy. To paraphrase Yogi Berra, "If the GOP is stupid enough to want to block this bill, there's nothing you can do to stop them."

By the way, you might want to look up "right-wing thug", "brownshirt" and "bully" while you're at it, too. Those are other terms I like to use when calling out Nazis and fascists.
