If Bush is Dumb and you are loosing to him by over 10% points what does that make you? Bush is a very beatable candidate who lucked up by running against a party so crazed and disfunctional that it couldn't pick one of many candidates who could have beaten him. Their primary was about who could sound the best bashing Bush, not who had the best ideas for the country.
I used to think Democrats were the high minded idealistic party who often screwed up due to an inability to realistically deal with the fact that some people have no morals and really are bad. I used to think that Republicans were the pragmatists that were often too quick to dump on those struggling as just not trying hard enough due in part to a certain moral arrogance and intolerance. Now I see them as two sides of the same coin. Do whatever it takes to win and keep the funds flowing from your traditional support base. Neither seems inclined these days to take a hard look at data that contradicts their cherished opinions and core beliefs.
We need a new party that basis it's decisions based on reason not party dogma. We need Presidential elections where every vote counts the same so that the majority opinion matters, not the majority of a few states where the race is close. We need a process that forces moderation not extremism. It's time to end this disastrous climate of burn the fields to win the battle mentality started by Newt and lately chanpioned by Democrats.

Mark
