Who supplied the memos to CBS? And why is CBS literally destroying the franchise to protect the source? Rather's DNC activist daughter? That would explain the senile old coot's obstinance, but not CBS execs. CBS's reluctance could be that they realize that their diminished market share audience has a core of sixties liberals and their progeney. Therefore they MUST ride this one all the way down to satisfy their constituency or they lose even their last place share.
