One criteria for defining spam on a BBS is posting an endless series of n/t subject lines repeating the same text. Like "Why do you keep spamming what is obviously false? (n/t)". A related criteria is a series of inflammatory posts that nobody bothers to reply to.

You're spamming the HabitableZone, Ed. Why don't you try to contribute something for a change?
