The people doing the beheadings are horrible men without conscience and deserve swift and brutal punishment but military action doesn't seem to be bringing them to justice. The impulsive thing is to allow their terrorism to make you reactionary and strike out against unclear targets. Don't ever forget that their message isn't so much to Americans as it is to the other citizens of the Arab world. In their twisted logic, the sins of an occupying force and the collateral damage they create, justify brutal responses. To ramp up general violence everytime another hostage is beheaded is falling into their trap. Where's our counter propaganda to the Arab world, hosting moderate religious leaders condemning the actions and showing the disconnect from generally accepted Islamic teachings?
Where's our president walking and talking amongst the people he's waging war against showing the courage and intelligence to reach out to the humanity that has to exist there? No, he's safe and secure in his padded White House, letting the sons and daughters of the poor do his talking for him. What a weenie.
