I am merely reporting the terrible facts. American soldiers are dying on a daily basis in Iraq. They were sent to Iraq because George Bush said we needed topple Saddam Hussein because he possessed hundreds of tons of chemical and biological weapons that could be used against American citizens. Turns out this wasn't true.

While I completely the support the administration's decision to topple the Taliban from power in Afghanistan for harboring Osama Bin Laden, I did not support Mr. Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq. I firmly believed then that it was a mistake and I still think it was terrible and reckless decision that will not serve the best interests of the people of the United States.

I realize my routinely reminding everyone here about the daily loss of life stimulates anger. It should. Its supposed to. It makes me angry. But its reality, Ed. And no matter how much you want to avoid the awful news, its not going away anytime soon. Unfortunately, American soldiers - heroes all of them - are going to be dying in Iraq for a very long time. Its essential that we not forget or ignore them and the reason Mr. Bush sent them there in the first place.
