My first and only visit so far was just last February. I stayed in a university college just off the grounds of the University of Western Australia. As the photos show, it's a lovely campus, and I spent a lot of time photographing it ..

I remember one time, while taking photos, this woman standing maybe 30 feet away just staring at me in this really suspicious, hostile way .. I resented her for being foolish and paranoid, but OTOH it goes to show how the fear is spreading everywhere ..

Since then I've started to wonder how safe Perth really is, being relatively accessible from Indonesia. Fremantle Port is very important to the economy and I certainly hope that it is being protected.

So maybe that woman wasn't so stupid after all. Just wrong.
