I would hope we would all be against the US being the "dominant world power." Implicit in this horrible statement is validation of the contempt much of the rest of the world has towards their perception of the US as an Imperialistic nation.

I would hope most Americans would be intelligent enough to disdain that notion. The thought that the US would seek to control and exploit the rest of the world should be anathema to all patriotic Americans.

Please learn the word "hegemonic" as that suits what I hope you would like to be saying. The US has maintained its position as the hegemonic nation-state since the close of WWII. We have been challenged, and we will continue to be challanged, but we have neither need nor right to dominate other nation-states.
