I'm against alternative motives and not being truthful.
It's clear Bush is not interested in catching OBL; the reputed mastermind of 911. Bush made that clear in an earlier speech and we were again reminded of that when Kerry brought it up at the last debate.
To keep the war machine going it requires that the public consider the government as leaders, trusted information sources, caretakers, and responsible. If the government is seen as lying to them on many fronts, the opposite will occur.
