Spam, pictures, and handling it

My default is that EVERYTHING is spam, and only trusted mail gets through.

Filter = *@*.*

I pre-filter spam with Mailwasher. This has a neat option that bounces spam back to where it comes from. This isn't neccesarily any good, but does make me feel better.

- It doubles the amount of spam traffic on the 'Net, and most of these wankers don't read their emails, or have forged accounts anyway. I don't think they bother pruning email lists, they just broadcast to everyone and everything, including inventing likely emails by combining names and domains.

Pictures can be filtered by using a modern version of Outlook. Only trusted persons have their embedded images downloaded, so even if a rabid bunny slips past your filters, you don't frighten the kids.

Personally, I think there should be a special penalty for spammers, hackers, and virus writers. Something out of Dante, perhaps...
