anyway I'm not that type of 'bloke' - but when you're immersed in a particular society, it's often assumed that you're the same as everyone else, which makes it hard to be seen as an individual.
The women end up resenting the men for the reasons you and Art described - and then put up walls which others, like me, have found difficult to understand or negotiate .. so I end up not bothering.
