"Bush divided his country and united the world against him. "

Thanks, Raoul. You hit the nail on the head.

I can see the reasoning behind the younger voters (35 and younger) who are choosing Bush because he puts the "security" of all Americans above everything else. He has managed to make us feel like he is our Keeper, our daddy, someone resolute in search of all evil.....all terrorists. He makes us feel protected, no matter what the cost.
He invokes the name of God and he vows revenge. To me, he's just another religious leader, instilling fear within the masses and invoking the name of God as our Saviour out of this. Yet, he has made so many decisions that have changed the face of America, and some of them are not so moral. Everything has been done in secret. So we are following along blindly, trusting him.

But are we safer? Can he really keep us safer, than John Kerry, for instance? Kerry would go out of his way to bring us back into the world community and try to work as a team, to get our allies back, to try and project the US as protector of the environment. Bush and his PNAC buddies act as a bully with their vision of dominance around the world.

What it boils down to, is that people are polarized by simple concepts and sound bites. They don't want to have to THINK, or project........ or do any of the work. They want someone to do it for them. And Bush has the best sound bite, and he has intimidated, lied, co-erced, and demeaned all of his competitors and enemies into submission.

I sometimes think he SHOULD be re-elected, just so he can clean up this mess in Iraq, clean up the environment and fix our economy. I don't think he can do it. Please, someone save these words and remind me four years from now, just how well he did. THEN, I might say he was the better choice.
