According to Kerry, in Iraq, it is impossible for the most powerful military force on Earth to win the war without military powerhouses like France and Germany. Even now, the insurgency writhes in their sleep with nightmares about the mighty French showing up in Iraq.*

On the other hand, in Afghanistan, the most powerful military force on Earth allying ourselves with the local tribes and military was a recipe for disaster and failure.

That these positions are not consistent, to say the least, doesn't seem to bother most liberals. Add to this the fact that one armed Afghan mountain man is probably worth six Frenchmen, and the consistency is fractured even further.

*And yes, when Kerry is talking about "allies" he means France, Germany and Russia. Why do you think he never names a single name? Nobody else even comes close in military capability, and almost everyone else with a decent military or economy is already in the coalition.
